More on the trip...

Cate hanging out with her Aunt Laurie.

Cate loved the scarf that her Gr. Nana Davis was wearing for the party. On the right is the four generations picture on Rick's side. How lucky that both Rick and I still have grandmas, and they both loved getting to meet Cate!

Cate enjoying time with Gr. Grandma Sprague, and on the right, Cate sitting on Gr. Aunt Diane's lap while wearing her pretty dress and sweater from Gr. Aunt Chris. Cate wore this for her post-baptism picnic.

Cate's first roadtrip. First stop, Pennsylvania!

The fighting began quickly when Cate's Aunt Chrissy, Gr. Aunt Chris, and Gr. Aunt Tish arrived from Philly. Aunt Chrissy managed to get ahold of Cate first by using the old "Quick, let me out of the car, b/c I really have to go the bathroom" trick.

Here's Cate with Nan and Grandpa Davis, and below, Cate is looking pretty content with her Aunt Chrissy.

Cate's baptism

On Sunday, May 25, 2008, Cate was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashland. She's wearing the gown made for Mommy by Great-grandma Sprague and also worn by Aunt Laurie. We had a big turnout for the event. It was attended by both sets of grandparents, Great-grandma Sprague, Aunt Laurie, Uncle Zach, Aunt Chrissy, Uncle Nate, Uncle Zach's parents Belva & Gerry, Gr. Aunt Diane and Gr. Uncle Jim, and cousins Jamie, Jarrod, Chelsea, and Jeremy.

Here we are after the service with the grandparents.

Cate is the sixth generation to be a baptized member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Here we have four generations together!

Cate is 4 months old!

Today Cate turned 4 months old. She also had her doctor's appt., and we got a good report. Dr. Phelps said she looks great and is developmentally right on track. She weighed in at 12 lb. 5 oz. (a more than 3 pound gain from her 2 month visit!), and she is 23 inches long. Her head circumference was 42 cm (the 75th percentile- all those brains, obviously! :)

Below is Cate with Sheila (left) and Jenn (right). Woody is the crazy chihuahua. The girls came over last night for homemade pizza. Rick was working, so we had a nice girls' night. But when Rick called and said they could stop by the firehouse (and make a DQ run for the guys) they took off. I guess the offer of ice cream beat out boring housemoms and crying babies. haha!! :)

Mommy's first Mother's Day

Rick had to work on Mother's Day, so we celebrated Saturday night. He made a great lasagne dinner, which I enjoyed one-handed while balancing Cate on my leg with my other hand. Ahh, the joys of motherhood!! I'm not sure if I'll ever eat a normal meal again! :) Anyways, Cate and Rick got me a plant, a charm for my bracelet, and a hummingbird feeder for the garden- all excellent gifts!

Below are some cute pictures from this morning. Shortly after taking them, Cate pooped all over herself. So much for that outfit! Looked cute while it lasted!

A little giggle

We've been trying to get video of Cate laughing, but usually, as soon as she sees the camera, she stops. I did, however, manage to catch this little chuckle the other day....

Nothing cuter than a sleeping baby

We've caught a few really cute pictures of Cate sleeping, so I thought I'd share. The one above is from the other night when we were doing a video call with my parents. Cate fell asleep in the middle of it. Obviously, our conversation was incredibly boring.

Then last night after dinner, we decided to go out to the land to let Zoe run around. By the time we got there (and it's only 5 minutes from home), Cate was zonked out, as you can see below. So I decided to stay in the car with her, and Rick took Zoe out just to run on the road, rather than walking back to our lot.

And below is Zoe, definitely NOT sleeping. Isn't she funny?!

Then this morning, I had Cate in her basket on the bathroom counter while I was getting showered and dressed, and she nodded off, pacifier in mouth and blankie in hand. Don't worry, I swear she's in no danger of falling off the counter!

And the one below is just cute! My two sweeties!!

Here are some more pictures of Cate and her favorite toys. She is no longer afraid of Curious George and they have become friends. Aunt Chris bought me a George when I was new and she and Tish felt Cate needed one too.

The other picture is Cate's Zoe and Daddy doll it is a dog and a fireman. The Zoe and Daddy doll is nice because it fits in Cate's swing and car seat with her.

Lindsay's Aunt Kathy and Uncle Larry came from Sacramento to meet Cater Tot. We enjoyed having family here and they were excited to meet Cate. Larry and I went golfing and he beat me pretty good. Their stay was short but fun.
