A day of leaves, pumpkins, and cider

Today is a picture-perfect Maine fall day. Temps are in the 60's, skies are crystal clear and blue, and leaves are nearly at their peak. We decided to head off for a little fall adventure south and inland from Bath. Our first stop was the Pinelands, a large campus-like facility that now houses a variety of businesses, a YMCA, and some other things. There's also a farm and many miles of hiking and X-country ski trails. It looks like a brick building college campus, but it used to be the "Maine School for the Feeble-Minded." No, I'm not kidding. Obviously, that was pre-PC days! Anyways, one of the buildings has a gift shop/farmer's marker/sandwich counter, so we poked around in there and got sandwiches for lunch.

Cate was too cute in the pile of pumpkins outside the welcome center.
